Dribs and Drabs Again

  • Every second dog in Australia seems to be a Jack Russell terrier. I like Jacks, but this is overkill!

  • It’s COLD in Montreal this week. That hasn’t happened since we got back from vacation.

  • Despite the cold, the magnolias are blooming. I love magnolias

  • The i-Phone has made it to Canada. People are lining up. It’s a PHONE people, get over it. It won’t do your laundry.

  • There's also a new phone service called Koodo. Their selling point? “Just phone and text”. No frills service that does what a phone should do – call people. No camera, no internet, no bells and whistles. That’s what I’d get if I finally joined the 21st century. Can’t help but wonder if it’ll catch on though, seeing as people love their gadgets so damn much.

  • A guy in Dallas was released from prison after 27 years behind bars for a murder he didn’t commit. Damn! Here's to DNA testing.

  • I noticed in Melbourne that lots of people wander around barefoot. In the middle of the city. How extremely bizarre…

  • I’m bored. The dry shrivelled husk of my brain is rattling around in my skull and the noise is very annoying.

  • I am perfectly sane.

  • Despite a recently overheard comment that "bloggers are nutjobs, 'cause who has the time to maintain one of those things".

  • I'm obviously at a point where I shouldn't be blogging if I can't find anything even remotely interesting to say. The muse, she has fled. Le sigh.

You may think you had nothing interesting to say, but *I* found this post pretty damn entertaining.

And most saliently, its obvious that even though you are home again in cold Montreal, *you* are still in Australia.

Must have been a damn good vacation...

I've bin where you iz. The thing about blogging though is that hardly anyone has anything "interesting" to say, per se, as it were -- yet we still all find other people's musings, experiences, ideas, thoughts interesting. Maybe not every one, every day, but reading through other people's blogs I can usually find one or two things that make me think or smile or laugh. Point is, you never know what's going to strike a chord with someone.

Yep, magnolias are also about to bloom here and it's frikkin cold. And coming back from vacation is not always the best thing to happen but what can you do... it usually takes me a good 2 or 3 weeks before I get back to being somewhat normal, and well, you know how hard that can be :)

If I were on some million dollar game show and the last question was, "Does Montreal have magnolias?" I would have said, quite confidently "No." How can Montreal and Texas grow the same plant? That's crazy times!

Aren't you just wetting yourself over the i-phone? I certainly am not either. Of course, all of this crap is a ruse by the phone companies to try and get us to shuck our landlines so they can make up revenues they're losing on LD charges, what with Skype et al. Otherwise I know you're utterly sane and I like fellow travellers on the same bus I'm taking.
And, our magnolias are also in bloom, Miss Scarlet.

27 years in jail. *shudder*

Bleck, why on earth would you want to walk around barefoot in a city? Needles, glass, dog poo...don't they have any common sense?

Rachel - Thanks, and yeah, I think I'm not quite "back" yet...

Xup - Damn yer good.

Fuball - Here's to your magnolia giving you flowers this year.

HD - You? Normal? HA!

BB - Damn cold indeed

Geewits - Ya but, your magnolias probably bloomed a coupble of months ago.

Ian - Why Mistah Rhett! Who knew we bloom simultaneously! Isn't that just puhfectly lovley!

Tai - Yeah, the very thought of what you'd have to wash off your feet in the evenings walking barefoot in a city... bleagch

Quite chilly here in Maine too. Walking barefoot in Melbourne - very interesting - don't think I'd be brave enough - especially in a city.

Susan - I love walking barefoot. As soon as I enter the house, the shoes fly. At the cottage I'm barefoot a lot too. But downtown in a city? Walking barefoot is not so much bravery as sheer stupidity it seems...
