Recycling is always good...

.
Today we recycle.

But since I'm not recycling my own post, it's more like.. um.... spreading the good news. Warty Mammal, purveyor of all things ridiculous and funny, posted this link. Which before I poached from her, she poached from Slate.

Check this out - a slideshow on "feminine hygiene product" (i.e. tampax) ads, as compared to cigarette ads. It's freakishly funny...  Go read it.

NOW.

Wow. That's both scary and funny. You know the one that gets me now, though? It's the ad that says "Have a happy period." WTF?

That was pretty cool. I thought my brain always came up with odd things to think about. That person has me beat, I believe.

Now I'm going to spend the rest of the day devoting way too much time to wondering how weightlessness might affect my cycle.

Hello Jazz! I just hopped over from Shrinky's to bring you a link, in case you don't check back at her blog. I'm not doing to be some flourishing, "Aha! Take that!" sort of Jackass, but rather because I was thoroughly delighted to see the subject come up again.

http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/to-the-manner-born.html

I just think it's the neatest thing, it isn't very often when both versions of something are correct, you know? Usually, particularly as it pertains to language usage, there is a definitive answer.

I just love that there is more than one to "the manor born" and "to the manner born", it happens so infrequently, and I guess I love it because it suggests a middle ground. That's something not often found in life without someone feeling as if they've lost ground. This is one of the few instances where, no one is being foolish, or wrong, or losing ground.

Sorry, this may not make you leap about with glee in the same way it does me, but I'm very fond of the entire thing.

Okay, so Shimp is a wee bit weird, but she's totally harmless! (Sorry Shimp, I'm only teasing, you know I lurvs 'ya to pieces).. giggle.

Don't mention feminine hygine to me, nothing in this house is sacred, only yesterday I found my supply raided and gone - sheesh, what is WRONG with my girls? Why can't they warn me when they pilfer the last of 'em?

That hilarious slideshow has been forwarded on to many, many people in my address book (did I mention I work in marketing?)

Ah, there we go... I hear laughter coming from other offices.

(by sheer coincidence, my word verification is "OliTamps" -- could be a new brand!)

I had a male friend in college who once smoked a tampon (on a dare). Wish I had photos now...
