That sure brings back memories of data entry. We've come a long ways baby.

if you watch closely, there's a guy with an iPhone in the background - he's a time traveler

I like the cartoon depiction of information swirling around in the vacuum tube.

I remember helping a friend do their punch cards while I was in CEGEP. One small error and you had to start all over again... they’d give you your stack back and tell you there was an error, not where it was though so you had to go through each card one by one. Sometimes that meant a couple of hundred cards to check...

Ah -- them were the days. Life was simpler and Get Smart was still on TV.Do we like what we have become? I'm unsure about that.On the other hand, I am writing a freelance article that I have to finish this afternoon. When it's done, I just send it off. Ta-da! I don't need to find a manila envelope and then slap $427 in Canadian postage (or whatever the rate is these days) on it.

Ha ha - those olden days people sure were crazy with their fantasies about machines doing the work of humans only much, much faster.

I read somewhere that 1Mb of memory in 1951 would have cost around $1m. Not much blogging in those days then.
