Bits and bobs

.
I have a thing for hosta leaves - so lovely and green and beautiful...

I was going to do a post on cool things in Quebec city, but then realized that almost all my pictures were of flowers in my sister's garden. There was, however, this:

Sixties bungalow with Corinthian columns. What were they thinking? Were they shooting for a "plantation" look? What they got is just bizarre...

And there was this - my favourite tree ever. Look at the size of the thing, it's huge. That's a two storey barn beside the tree. My new goal? To get a picture of it in every season.

For Gaelyn, here's the ladybug pendant I told you I'd post. This is the best of the ones I took of it, and obviously the angle is weird because it's not all screwy like that... This is my all time favourite pendant. I've been wearing it non-stop for almost 20 years, Mr. Jazz gave it to me way back when when I told him I loved ladybugs...

Dinner. Pasta with orange bell peppers, onions, red, yellow and orange cherry tomatoes, and for lack of basil - arugula. It was beyond delicious. And this food pic is definitely better than the last ones. I just discovered a setting for photographing food on my camera. AND I recently discovered how to use the macro function. There will no doubt be a macro post eventually*.

Seen on the way to 1001 pots (which merits its own post). I love this, the mannequin legs, the broken bike... It's hilarious...

Have a great weekend!

* Look at her, all of a sudden she's little miss photography.

Really nice food photo. That's rotini though, not MACROroni! Ha ha ha... (and I wonder why you don't want to drive to Ottawa)

@XUP: it's actually Gemelli, courtesy of Bsrilla. Got the box @ home but can't find it on their website. Waddyagonadoo?

I love the ladybug pendant, the amber is perfect. That Mr Jazz has good taste in jewelry and you. Thanks.

I think the hosta leaf looks like fabric on a chair back. Of course I wouldn't want to spill water on that.

The columns do look a bit out of place on a ranch-style bungalo.

That tree is huge. What kind is it, and is it in your yard?

LOL! That last shot is so creative.

Keep up the good work Little Miss Photography.

The pasta looks magnificent. I agree... WTF were they thinking?

That looks like a great climbing tree. I want to get in it. And what a great spot for a really cool treehouse! Without dorky columns of course. That really was odd looking. I love the bike art! We just had our Italian sausage with peppers and onions last night and it always looks so pretty in the skillet, I almost took a picture. But since I've done that before, it seemed silly to take another one. Yours looks great, too. Have a great weekend!

XUP - yeah... well....

Mr. Jazz - eat the pasta

Gaelyn - I luv my ladybug too. As for the tree, it's in Quebec city, near my sister's house. I haven't gotten close enough to it to determine what kind of tree it is. The picture was taken from across the street. I guess I'd have to go knock on their door and ask permission to take pictures up close to determine the species. Oak maybe ? - just because it's so huge.

Suldog - it was magnificent

Geewits - Whew! What a whirlwind. Have a great weekend yourself!

I love hostas, too. I have probably a dozen varieties scattered around under the trees.

Is the body of that lady bug amber? It's beautiful.

I honestly never felt your blog was lacking photos...until you started posting them, and now I'm all "stop with the food; I need some!" and "yes, that mannequin is a scream!!" and "what the hell with those columns for sure!!!!!"

You make me use many exclamation points. But even more, your love of hosta leaves has assured that I'm destined to love you forever, so I'm on my way up now, to rip you out of Mr. Jazz's arms.

Gently, though. Wouldn't want to harm the lad.

:)) I am really loving that legs-up near the bike photo. What a conversation piece. And that dish? Just up my alley. I need to make that. If only pasta was on my diet this week (it is if I sneak it in, right?)

SAW - the leaves are just spectacular. Less so now that the summer is advancing and they're getting chewed on by assorted critters, but still...

Lime - the food has me hungry too and the bruise is much better. Ever so much less spectacular now.

Joce - email me, it's in my profile... We'll plan our escape together to the hosta leaf jungle.

FL - Seriously there were way more veggies in there than pasta. WAY more.
