How long has this latest American election drama been going on? Years? Decades? Centuries?
It seems more and more likely (or so informed rumour has it) that Harper, our PM will be calling an election.
For this fall.
The election should be called around September 5.
The election itself would be held around mid-October.
A little over a month.
Only a month's worth of asinine promises and people trying to make me believe they actually have my best interests at heart.
That's how to carry out an election. A month of bullshit is more than enough.

You can just randomly call for an election? That seems weird.
As for us, it will be over soon and then after January it will be quietish for a few years. I hope.
Bless you, my child, for your words of wisdom.
Geewits - Well, it's a minority government so if the other parties decide not to cooperate, he really has no choice. Otherwise it's every four years.
Ian - I was channeling you no doubt.
Oh, how I envy the short election process.
If only the US version was short and the bastards moved into office a week or so after the election, instead of nearly three months later.
i think it should be like a pop quiz.
I've been saying this exact same thing for EVER now to all the American bloggers who have been up to their eyebrows in political sludge for the last 400 years or however long it's been since they decided to have this electathon. What amazes me is that they're all still at the edge of their seats with excitement and interest about the whole freakin' thing. We'll be lucky if we can spark up enough interest to sustain us through 3 or 4 weeks of our election process.
An election, of damn I'll have to decide which idiot I'll give my vote to. I sincerely wish that the ballots were like a multiple choice quiz and the last choice wa none of the above.
thank god for short elections.
Does it help any if I admit a day never goes by when I'm not at least a leeeetle bit ashamed of being American?
I remember watching CBC Sunday and Chantal Hebert said that Canada cannot sustain the cost to have the same process as the US. We simply don't have the $$$ but me thinks it's more because people wouldn't give any money (I know I wouldn't). I'm not surprised he'll be calling an election soon, he's been quietly passing bills before he calls the election (i.e. the bill to pass on the responsibility of food inspections back to processing companies).
Yep, a month of bullshit. And this will be mixed with all those Hallowee'n ads or those thinly disguised Christmas ads lol
