How do I hate Bell Canada? Let me count the ways…

These past few days I’ve been pretty much incommunicado. Our internet/email system was down at work. Despite Ma Bell’s contention, the problem wasn’t us. They finally had to admit they were the problem. Surprise surprise

Amazing how annoying it’s become to have to resort to prehistoric 20th century methods of communication like the fax and phone.

Amazing how quickly we come to depend on technology, and how frustrated we are when we don’t have it.

Amazing how much time we waste in a day answering pointless emails.

Amazing how, when the problem is found and the techie calls Bell they refuse to do the easy fix because it’s not “procedure”. We are temporarily “fixed” and hoping it doesn’t go down again until they find a really complicated way of fixing the problem that doesn’t entail us losing access for at least a week – ‘cause this is a BUSINESS fer chrissake!

How close are we to dumping Bell and going elsewhere? Yeah, about thiiiiiiiiis close.

The whole situation is completely surreal.

We have similar problems with them about our phone system, although not sure our email server is with Bell. But yeah, big problem with them... what's more infuriating is that they still continue to behave as though they are the only big players. Denial!

LOL - same deal here. Had a land line with Verizon and they gave me the total runaround. Then charged me a hundred bucks for something that was totally their fault. You can believe I went to great lengths to talk that charge away! Maybe VOIP with a company like Vonage is the solution... Me, I just use my cell phone for everything.

i'm the same way as Paul, i only use my cell and actually don't even have a landline any more at all

That's why we have internet and the telephone with Videotron. When Videotron internet phone came out and we could dump Bell... "Ding dong Bell their phone is in the well!" They are arrogant and their service is lousy. You also get these people telephoning you all the time trying to get you to buy other services... Mrs BB had to finally threaten them with a complaint for harassement to the CRTC to get them to stop calling all the time.

I totally dumped bell and now I keep getting these cute cards and letters from them saying they miss me and would do one or two things if I agreed to come back. It's fun being wooed by a jilted suitor

Don't you wacky Canucks have cable internet? I mean, wtf?

LOL...

Despite my laughter, I am sympathizing. Even cable internet providers have their issues, but...in the three, almost four years I've had them, never once has their technology failed on me. I strongly suggest cable internet, if its available.

I've had 4 postcards from Frank and Gordon already (it's been less than 2 months) and the phone calls - the only reason I answered was to tell them to stop calling, but the stranger on the other end kept insisting that he (and Bell) missed me and that I had been one of the family for so long... apparently I was tearing the fabric of this loving family apart by switching to another conglomerate. Traitor.

Dump them! At least you have a choice, right?

So I hope you enjoyed the freedom from answering pointless emails...

The cable company said their internet cable stopped about half a block away, so too bad for me! So I'm stuck with the pricey DSL connection from BellSouth.

If you dump Bell, don't go to Telus. They are equally inept and incompetent and inefficient, etc. etc.
